Thank you very much. Give it a go...no copyright issues on this recycling project.
May I tell you again how much I enjoy visiting your blog site. I learn so much about what it is like to live in your very beautiful, yet demanding, Yorkshire.
Oh Jane and Lance, we are on the same page. Those colorful little paper hearts are now in a little bowl, reminding me perhaps of rose petals. I used to keep a very large bowl full of origame cranes. Also pleasant to see, and fun to give away to visitors.
Thank you, Jane. This is definitely a weekend to stay indoors as much as possible. A little more snow last night, followed up by very, very strong winds that are bringing the temperature down, down, down. Glad to have homemade soup, tea,and so forth, at the ready. xo
Oh Elizabeth, will this arctic bit never cease? It is becoming a real bore. On the other hand, being indoors can lead to playing around with the catalogues waiting to be recycled.
Happy Valentine's day Frances . Our windows are wrapped in plastic to keep out the Artic weather, we kind of like looking at a NYC somewhat diffused. Mike & Kitt
K & M, I hope that the plastic insulating helps a bit. You've brought back some memories of my own winterizing techniques back in the Greene Street days.
Frances, I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day! I love you casual but very effective cut out hearts. An idea I think I have to borrow and do one day. Very inspiring. Have a lovely remaining week! xoxo Ingrid
Just read your comment over on CocoRose and I too have been soup-making all winter though it's not as cold here in Hampshire, UK as you've had it in NY where one of my friends lives. I've just rediscovered the joy of making pancakes - and eating them! Will be back - your knitting is awesome!
what a sweet little collection. I hope you treated yourself to anything your own heart desired on Valentine’s Day, although, frankly, I think the day is far too commercial to mean anything.
If you don’t do kind things for those you love the rest of the year, Valentine’s Day is a bit of a waste of time.
I live in a small apartment near beautiful Central Park. Over past decades, I have greatly enjoyed traveling through the British countryside. After almost fourteen years of working in the retail fashion business, I have recently retired. This was a big decision, and I'm now enjoying expanded opportunities to pursue my varied interests.
Hope you had a lovely day.

Thank you, Celia. Fun to stay indoors and play with paper and scissors, and do some reading and knitting, too. Sooo cold outdoors! xo
Deletefeliz día!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHappy Valentines to you! The hearts are very sweet.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joan. It was fun to do a little recycling of pretty colored papers. Please visit again.
DeleteThese little hearts are unique and elegant. I hope that today you stayed in a warm and cozy place – with a nice cup of tea, perhaps.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Vagabonde, I only ventured outdoors briefly. Much better to be cosy indoors!
DeleteMay I once again praise your beautiful post about Paris! xo
Sweet hearts! Happy February!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susan...as our super cold weather continues it's fun to come up with light-hearted ways to enjoy the great warmth of indoors.
DeleteThey look like butterflies!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Elizabeth! It was a very simple idea, but had cheery results.

Hello Frances,
ReplyDeleteWhat an attractive and kind thought......and so much longer lasting than the real thing!
Perhaps they can be kept altogether in a pretty bowl to lift the spirits on dark, dreary days!

DeleteSo cheery in our arctic conditions where our Finnish friends are warmer than us..!

I'm a day late to wish a happy Valentine's Day - thank you for these cheerful and unique paper hearts. I just love them!
ReplyDeleteCarol, these little hearts were so easy to make...do snip some for yourself. xo
DeleteSimple but effective, I love your hearts. Happy Valentine's Day to you too. x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Val. It was fun to find a way to reuse some pages from a catalogue. I think that I may try some similar experiments in the weeks to come.
DeleteOh...how wonderful it would be for the weather to warm up by about 10 or 20 degrees. xo
So romantic and tender, these flowery hearts made me smile on an ordinary day like today!:)
ReplyDeleteRossichka, I think that your fabulous way with paper cutting might have given me a subliminal gateway to taking out my own scissors.
DeleteYes, I agree that these little pieces of paper are tender. xo
Oh, I'm so happy to be part of your "scissors adventure".:) Go ahead!
DeleteWhat a lovely idea!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them Vicki. Do give this idea a try yourself. xo
DeleteSo pretty and artistic... the paper hearts are rather lovely too ;) Cx
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear Chris. xo

Ingrid, please do get your scissors out and have some fun snipping away. I think that having the paper as light as petals helps with the effect.

ReplyDeleteWe've had some more snow over the weekend, but thank goodness...most of it has been cleared away. Time to make more soup!

Friko, I so agree with you about not limiting kindness and affection to one day of the year.
