Good afternoon from New York.
This little chick and I wish you all a very Happy Easter. It is our hope that Sunday's weather will be warm and sunny, and that it will be a good day to visit the Fifth Avenue Easter Parade.
I hope to see you all again very soon.
It will be great if the weather is sunny, but if it's not, the Easter mood will be enough to feel warm inside!:)
ReplyDeleteVery wise thoughts, Rossichka. Wishing a very Happy Easter to you and yours. xo
DeleteHappy Easter, Frances! I hope the sun shines in the Easter Parade.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed, Pondside. The Parade's just not the same if umbrellas show up. xo
DeleteI look forward to seeing some grand Easter bonnets!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicki. It's always surprising to see all the imagination on display. xo
DeleteThat is a sweet little chick. I looked at the weather for NYC for Sunday – partly cloudy, 20% chances of rain = 80% chances of dry weather then – I do hope you will be able to watch your parade.
ReplyDeleteI've seen that report, too. I think the rain might arrive later in the afternoon. We shall see. xo
DeleteYou do have such a lovely site. I am so slow to send appreciation for the beauty that you share here.
ReplyDeleteI do send warm wishes to you for a lovely weekend and may the peace of Easter embrace all of us throughout the world.
Thank you.
Thank you so much, Ellen, for your visit and kind wishes. Happy Easter to you!
DeleteWishing you too a very Happy Easter weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt was such a beautiful Spring day yesterday - a little chilly but perfect for being outside in the garden. However now on Friday it is dull and wet - and we have a visitor coming for lunch, what a shame we won't be able to enjoy the garden.
C xx
Spring weather is a very up and down situation...the flowers grow up and the rain comes down. I'm sure your lunch will be fun, even if the garden will have to wait. Happy Easter! xo
DeleteEaster wishes to you Frances....and to the chick as well! I look forward to reading about the Easter parade.
ReplyDeleteThank you Elizabeth. I came across that little chick yesterday and actually cannot remember where it came from. Just hopped in, I guess!

Happy Easter, Frances! I look forward to your account of the parade: your descriptions always have an old-school measured dignity.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mise. That Easter Parade always provides such rich material upon which to comment. A contrast of elegance and crazy way out there imagination. And some true showing off all along the way. A happy day, with churches available, too. xo
DeleteHappy Easter to you also. I am hoping for some sun and warmth.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit. I do hope to have some festive pictures to show you soon. xo
DeleteHappy Easter Frances. How quickly another year passes. I thought about you as I bought some golden Lindt bunnies yesterday. I also ate a cadburys Creme egg and again memories of Easter posts came flooding back.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your sunny day, they really cheer you up and make such a difference after the cold winter days.
The birds are singing outside my window, so cheerful as it is grey, wet and very gloomy.
Looking forward to seeing Central Park as Spring flowers bloom and you take your walks. Enjoy the parade and hopefully something chocolate. Millyx
Oh Milly, I keep seeing those Lindt bunnies all over town and expect to be acquiring some chocolate soon to have at the ready for Easter. Perhaps you've heard about the Cadbury's controversy? We can no longer buy authentic British versions of these famous candies over here? Big business has really messed things up this time. The U.S. version of Cadbury's is totally different.
DeleteAh well, flowers will still bloom! xo
Happy East dear Frances. I love your little vignette. Hoping for some pretty pictures from your Easter Parade.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gina. It was fun to take a close up view of some small items that sing a spring song, just in time for Easter. Have a fabulous Easter! xo
DeleteWishing you a very happy Easter Frances.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Gina. Lots of rain today, so perhaps Easter Sunday will be clear.

Hello Frances,
ReplyDeleteSuch a cheery post!
And, we wonder, will you be putting on your best hat for the Easter Parade?
It has been a long winter for you and we wish you sunny skies and warm weather as the season turns to Spring. May all joy be yours this Eastertide!
Dear Jane and Lance, it's fun to do a quick light-hearted post now and then.
DeleteI know that you all have many wonderful hats, but admit that my supply of spring bonnets is currently down to one. If the weather does turn warmer with lots of sun, perhaps I will wear it. If not on Easter, then another time when the weather is favorable. And take a picture, too.
There will be lots of other bonnets on Fifth Avenue on Sunday. Lots of photo ops.
Thank you so much for your kind wishes. xo
Hope you will get your beautiful weather Frances! Wishing you a wonderful Easter. Enjoy the parade.
ReplyDeleteMadelief x
Many thanks, Madelief. I am watching all the weather forecasts for Easter Sunday with great interest.
DeleteLove to you and yours. xo
Happy Easter! It's very variable weather here although so far today no rain!
ReplyDeleteThanks Su...a very Happy Easter to you, too. This Saturday morning I can hear very strong wind a'blowin outside my windows. Good day to wear a close-fitting hat. Hoping the wind is sending wonderful weather for tomorrow. xo
ReplyDeleteAnd a very happy Easter to you too Frances, I hope you enjoy the parade.
ReplyDeleteEaster morning has dawned sunny, if a bit chilly, Annie. I think it will lots of fun to wander over to Fifth Avenue in a few hours. xo
DeleteHappy Easter to you Frances, I hope the sun shines on you and your parade. x
ReplyDeleteThank you, Val. The rain has held off until late afternoon. Hoping you'll like the Parade post.

Happy Easter to you dear Frances!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to joining you to see the NY Easter parade!
Spring bonnets will be a treat - I only have a french beret and sunhats now!
Shane x
Shane, I did not wear any bonnet myself today, but oh my...did I see lots of bonnets. And have now got my blog posted. xo
DeleteHappy Easter Frances. I hope you had the sunniest of days. We did, although it could not have been described as warm. We were all together for my son's birthday.
ReplyDeleteLucille, it was chilly at the Parade, but the sun was very bright. The clouds blew in this afternoon.
DeleteHappy Birthday to your son!
I think you'll like my Parade post. xo
