City Views, Country Dreams

Good afternoon from New York.

This little chick and I wish you all a very Happy Easter.  It is our hope that Sunday's weather will be warm and sunny, and that it will be a good day to visit the Fifth Avenue Easter Parade.

I hope to see you all again very soon.

  1. It will be great if the weather is sunny, but if it's not, the Easter mood will be enough to feel warm inside!:)

  4. That is a sweet little chick. I looked at the weather for NYC for Sunday – partly cloudy, 20% chances of rain = 80% chances of dry weather then – I do hope you will be able to watch your parade.

  6. Wishing you too a very Happy Easter weekend!

It was such a beautiful Spring day yesterday - a little chilly but perfect for being outside in the garden. However now on Friday it is dull and wet - and we have a visitor coming for lunch, what a shame we won't be able to enjoy the garden.

    1. Spring weather is a very up and down situation...the flowers grow up and the rain comes down. I'm sure your lunch will be fun, even if the garden will have to wait. Happy Easter! xo

    1. Thank you, Mise. That Easter Parade always provides such rich material upon which to comment. A contrast of elegance and crazy way out there imagination. And some true showing off all along the way. A happy day, with churches available, too. xo

  10. Happy Easter Frances. How quickly another year passes. I thought about you as I bought some golden Lindt bunnies yesterday. I also ate a cadburys Creme egg and again memories of Easter posts came flooding back.
I hope you get your sunny day, they really cheer you up and make such a difference after the cold winter days.
The birds are singing outside my window, so cheerful as it is grey, wet and very gloomy.
Looking forward to seeing Central Park as Spring flowers bloom and you take your walks. Enjoy the parade and hopefully something chocolate. Millyx

    1. Oh Milly, I keep seeing those Lindt bunnies all over town and expect to be acquiring some chocolate soon to have at the ready for Easter. Perhaps you've heard about the Cadbury's controversy? We can no longer buy authentic British versions of these famous candies over here? Big business has really messed things up this time. The U.S. version of Cadbury's is totally different.
Ah well, flowers will still bloom! xo

  13. Hello Frances,

    Such a cheery post!

And, we wonder, will you be putting on your best hat for the Easter Parade?

It has been a long winter for you and we wish you sunny skies and warm weather as the season turns to Spring. May all joy be yours this Eastertide!

    1. Dear Jane and Lance, it's fun to do a quick light-hearted post now and then.

I know that you all have many wonderful hats, but admit that my supply of spring bonnets is currently down to one. If the weather does turn warmer with lots of sun, perhaps I will wear it. If not on Easter, then another time when the weather is favorable. And take a picture, too.

There will be lots of other bonnets on Fifth Avenue on Sunday. Lots of photo ops.

Thank you so much for your kind wishes. xo
